- OPI Affair in Red Square nail polish -it's the perfect red in my book. I own 3 bottles.
- Benefit Eye Bright pencil -I love, love, LOVE this product. Apply on the browbone for your eyes to really pop.
- MAC eyeshadow in Naked Lunch -this is a subtle peachy pearly color, and it's my go-to when I'm in a hurry. I even just swip it on with my fingers.
- DiorShow mascara by Christian Dior -the wand can be a bit scary to get used to at first, but the results are fantastic. I get asked if I'm wearing fake lashes frequently

My Story
People sometimes ask me how I got into doing makeup. The truth is, it's a bit of a fluke. I had always been a little "plain jane" when I was a teenager. I didn't wear makeup all the time, and when I did it was lipgloss and mascara. I didn't think too much about it.
Right after high school I got cystic acne. It was so bad. It literally seemed as if I had one giant cyst on both of my cheeks, there was so many of them. Fortunatly for me, when I went to Kaiser to see how to fix the problem I got assigned the most wonderful dermatologist. He took one look at me and said, "You need to be on accutane." He then explained to me that acne is something that sometimes can only be fixed from the inside out. Cystic acne is one of those cases. Only medicine will cure it. The accutane worked. It worked after a month, and I swear by it to anyone else that is suffering from cystic acne. But how does makeup get involved in this story? I'll tell you, it took me about 3 months to go see the doctor. I just kept thinking, "this has got to get better at some point." While I was waiting I started to really do my makeup for the first time in my life. I didn't really bother with coverup too much, it didn't matter what I did, you could see the acne. I did start focusing on my eyes. I thought maybe they would distract people from the rest of my face. I bought the book Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin and started imitating the looks he created. He was this wonderful artist, and he made it possible for me to have some of my self-confidence back during a time in my life when I had very little. With my face acne free, I continued to play with makeup. I was fascinated with products and skin care. I eventually became a licensed esthetician. From there I just started doing makeup for weddings, proms, and other special events. I enjoy making people feel confidant, and I know that sometimes makeup can give that confidence to them. I think everyone looks a little better with a touch of makeup, and sometimes you just need a little help figuring out what works best for you.
